The story is important for understanding what makes this game unique. I'll likely explain a basic synopsis in class, but I'll provide a  slightly more detailed description here:

You play as a monk named Komatsu, who had spent much of his life learning the ways of enlightenment, self-defense, and pacifism from the order of monks he was born into, however his response to adversity was seldom tested. However, one day, the order would be betrayed by Komatsu’s own brother, Hibana, having blindsided them and enlisted the help of various warriors from throughout the territory to attack and claim the monastery. Hibana’s intentions are still unknown, but many of Komatsu’s fellow monks were killed, with Komatsu himself is the only survivor. He seeks both revenge and answers in his quest to confront Hibana, tracing him to the lair of the Kagemusha clan, up on top of a mountain. There, he must force his brother to change his ways, all without throwing a single strike.
